What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Visit
Walking into any new kind of appointment for the first time can feel uncertain, especially when it involves your body. This is a general, educational overview of how a first chiropractic visit typically unfolds — not a description of any specific individual’s plan of care, and not a substitute for the actual intake process at any given practice.
Intake and history
Most first visits start with paperwork or a digital intake form covering your general health history, current concerns, and relevant past injuries or conditions. This is standard practice across most chiropractic offices and gives the chiropractor context before any hands-on evaluation begins.
A conversation before anything hands-on
Expect a conversation first. A chiropractor will typically ask about what brought you in, how long you’ve noticed it, what makes it feel better or worse, and how it affects your day-to-day activity. This is general information-gathering, not a diagnosis in itself — it’s simply the starting point for a more focused evaluation.
The evaluation
A typical evaluation includes an assessment of posture, movement, and joint mobility in the areas of concern. Depending on the practice and the situation, this may involve observing how you move, checking range of motion, and evaluating specific joints by hand. This is general information about how evaluations commonly proceed — the specific approach varies by practice and by individual, and only an in-person evaluation can determine what’s appropriate for you.
Discussing a plan
After the evaluation, a chiropractor will typically explain what they observed in plain terms and discuss options going forward. This is a good time to ask questions — about the reasoning behind a recommendation, how long a plan might generally run, and what a typical visit involves. A practice that explains its thinking clearly, rather than asking you to simply trust the process, is generally a good sign.

What a first visit at Chiro In Brickell is built to include
At Chiro In Brickell, the same general shape applies: an intake conversation, an evaluation of posture and joint mobility, and a plain-language discussion of what a plan of care might generally look like within our Restore, Refine, Perform framework. Because the practice is appointment-only, with two daily windows, visits are built around focused, unhurried time rather than a high-volume schedule.
