Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic pressure waves directed at a specific area of the body, generally used to address localized soft-tissue discomfort and support the body’s natural repair processes. Chiro In Brickell offers shockwave therapy using a STORZ Masterpuls device, a radial shockwave system, as one of its three core in-office services.
What radial shockwave therapy generally involves
A handheld applicator delivers a series of acoustic pulses through the skin into the targeted soft tissue — commonly tendons, muscles, or fascia. The radial format spreads the pressure wave outward from the point of contact, generally suited to broader, more diffuse areas of soft-tissue involvement. Sessions are typically brief, require no anesthesia, and involve little to no downtime, though some people notice mild soreness at the treatment site afterward.
The general premise behind shockwave therapy is that mechanical stimulation to soft tissue may help support local blood flow and the tissue’s own repair activity. It is not a treatment that produces immediate or guaranteed results, and the number of sessions used varies by individual and by the area being addressed.
Who commonly looks into shockwave therapy
People typically look into shockwave therapy when they’re dealing with localized, persistent soft-tissue discomfort that hasn’t responded to rest alone, often as a complement to adjustments and decompression. These are general patterns; whether shockwave therapy is appropriate depends on an individual evaluation, in person.

Chiro In Brickell’s approach
Shockwave therapy fits into the Restore, Refine, Perform framework — often used during Restore to help address what’s limiting you, and during Refine to build on what’s improving, always as part of a plan with a finish line rather than a standing appointment, followed by a clear picture of the upkeep that holds the result. This is a general description, not a guaranteed timeline or outcome.
